CFE-BAH-B. Horace John MALTBY, b. June 25, 1834, Wayne Co., N.Y. (Horace 6, Jos.5, Jos.4, Jos.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Civil War, Comp. C., 148th Reg. P.V.I., shot in battle, died May 11, 1864, "Shot in fore- head May 10th, died next day, at the battle of the Wilderness, offici- ally recorded "Poe River," he was buried from the field hospital and later removed to the National Cemetery, at Fredericksburg, Va.
